Mercy Ministry

Purpose: To help those unable to help themselves by ministering to their most pressing needs and sharing the Good News.

“For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me… Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me”

Egypt

After the 2011 Egyptian revolution, extreme poverty spread across wide areas in Upper Egypt. Many Christian families experienced persecution from radical groups in the form of the burning down of their small businesses and homes. Hope4MENA could not remain silent and in 2013 launched its Mercy Ministry to share the Gospel by offering practical love to the most desperate.

Many families live without roofs, bathrooms, or running water, and can barely survive from day to day. “My kids have not had anything to eat for two days;” “We only ate bread dipped in water since last week;” “I had to look in public trash containers for food,” are some of the sad phrases expressed by many mothers who were unable to provide their families with basic food items for several days. We are thankful that Hope4MENA helps provide food packages, build roofs and bathrooms, extend running water, and so much more!

Sudanese Refugees in Egypt

Fleeing war with almost nothing except the clothes they were wearing, many Sudanese refugees who fled to Egypt were in a dire situation. Hope4MENA is able to assist the most desperate families with both food packages and medical assistance. Every month, food packages are distributed to over 500 refugee families, many of whom consist of 10–15 individuals. These packages contain essential items, and are designed to sustain a family for 2–3 weeks. Every other month, we organize free medical field trips to provide vital healthcare services to refugees. Partnering with Sudanese doctors who are more familiar with local challenges and health conditions, we offer free diagnoses, tests, medicines, optical exams, and glasses. These trips reach between 250–300 individuals.

South Sudan

For those who have never been to this part of the world, it is very difficult to conceptualize the conditions under which people live in South Sudan. We are thankful that Hope4MENA is able to distribute food packages and share the love and message of Christ among many families.

Iraq

In a region that suffered immesely from ISIS and war, food remains scarce for many families. As part of Hope4MENA’s mercy ministry efforts, we continue to distribute food packages to the most desperate in the Kurdistan region. Each package contains essential food items, and we aim to distribute 600 packages by the end of 2024.
